ANATOMICAL ARTISANSHIP & MATERIAL EVOLUTION

IERIB is a study in material alchemy. Merging Japanese craft with bespoke British tailoring sensibilities, the brand is defined by entirely handmade construction- from pattern making to garment-dyeing & hardware finishing. Signature culatta leathers, repurposed materials, and Japanese textiles are treated to age and distort, creating garments that evolve in character over time. An exploration of structural integrity and raw materiality. Available online at AZUL and in our New York City showroom.

Designer Rei Tanaka's comes from an extensive background in tailoring and focused art forms. Pursuing a lifelong commitment to high quality craftsmanship, studying bespoke craft in London and Italy; his sensibilities are evident in his current practice.

'ierib' is the epitome of small production, hand-done, artisanal craft. Everything is developed + produced in the Kyoto atelier by Rei himself. The label is renowned for its meticulous handmade leather goods and dedication to a slower approach to design, where material, process, and time hold equal importance. This full circle philosophy is evident in practice; Rei not only hunting for sport, but using the hides in production, and the meat for consumption.

Every piece is created with an obsessive attention to detail—hand-selected leathers, custom-developed hardware and labor-intensive dyeing and finishing techniques performed in-house. Rather than concealing the marks of production, ierib embraces them, allowing each item to carry the visible imprint of the artisan's hand. Bags, footwear, and garments develop a unique patina over time, becoming increasingly personal to their owner.
